Nacho Y Kika's Cafe located at 204 E South 1st Street in Johnstown has announced they will be closing on February 14. The Mexican restaurant has been in downtown Johnstown for nearly nine years.

The announcement to close the doors came on Friday, February 5 via Nacho Y Kika's Cafe Facebook page. Nacho Y Kika's state the reason for the closure is not due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but rather due to the struggles of small business and Tony, the owner, facing illness. The challenges for the family have been daunting and as a result, they have decided to close the doors.

Nacho Y Kika's Cafe expressed their gratitude to the community and customers by saying "We Cannot thank you enough for your love, support, and loyalty. We have enjoyed serving you and appreciate you. Tony opened this business to honor his parent's memory and to have a place where people could come to eat homemade food made with love just like grandma's house."

As someone who lives in Johnstown and frequented Nacho Y Kika's Cafe for their great green chile, I will miss the food and friendly faces. I wish the family the very best and I hope that Tony is quickly on the road to a healthy life.
