Mystery Creature Caught on Camera in Southern Colorado
Colorado is home to thousands of different species of animals. From the tiniest of mice to massive moose, and many other creatures in between, the list of unique wildlife that exists in the Centennial state is truly diverse and amazing.
Recently, however, a critter with an unknown identity has been popping up in a southern area of the state, causing locals to wonder what it might be.
A Pueblo, Colorado resident named Janay Lynn shared a video of the unidentified animal that came to door of her home on Mohawk Road Saturday. It returned again on Sunday, cruising through her yard and peeking into the window.
She explained that it’s brown, walks on all fours and has a long tail. The animal appeared to have red eyes in video, but that could just be due to the flash. The woman has no idea what the animal is, but said she had seen it once before in the daytime. In her post on Facebook, Janay Lynn further mentioned that she’s scared of the mystery creature and worried it might attack cats and dogs in the area. According to the Pueblo resident, neither police or animal control would help when called.
Apparently other people in Pueblo have also witnessed this strange animal in the wild. Some residents in the Belmont Watch group report that the creature has been seen for a few months now.
Hundreds of comments have surfaced from people guessing what the animal could be. Several people wondered if it could possibly be a coati that wandered into the state from New Mexico. KKTV news reporters suggested it may be a badger, wolverine, possum, or maybe a raccoon with mange. Others joked that it was a Chupacabra.
Some think the animal's face looks bloody, like it may be injured.
