This Colorado City is One of the Worst for Having Fun, New Study Says
It's common knowledge that the Centennial State is a fun place to live. Don't just take our word for it — last month, WalletHub ranked Colorado as the sixth most fun state in the U.S.
However, that doesn't mean all of Colorado is fun.
According to a new WalletHub study, Aurora is one of the least fun cities in the country, at least in terms of recreation.
After comparing Aurora's entertainment and recreation opportunities, quality of parks, and weather against its cost of living, the report ranked the city as the 92nd best place for recreating. Unfortunately, since WalletHub only considered 100 cities, this means it's one of the worst.
If it offers any comfort, the Gateway to the Rockies isn't alone — cities like Fort Wayne, Indiana; Chula Vista, California; Garland, Texas; Durham, North Carolina; and Memphis, Tennesee also received unfavorable rankings.
Still, as WalletHub's previous study suggests, there are fun cities in the Centennial State. Denver came in at No. 17, while Colorado Springs came in at No. 62.
This data is helpful, but don't take it as an end-all-be-all. Northern Colorado cities like Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley didn't make the list either, and we know they're fun.
Even Aurora has its charm — it's one of the best places to start a business, a great place to celebrate the 4th of July, and is the home of a TikTok-favorite restaurant. The city also doesn't tax diapers and menstrual products.
