More than a dozen wolves from Canada are planned to be released in the state of Colorado in early 2025 by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The release of the newest pack of wolves is set to take place in January and could be located in one of three Colorado Counties.

According to KDVR, there are people on both sides of the gray wolf reintroduction back into the state of Colorado trying to intervene with Canadian officials. Numerous pro-wolf groups sent a joint letter to the ministries of Canada that are overseeing the decision to relocate some of its British Columbian gray wolves to send more.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, there are 26 anti-wolf reintroduction groups that are pleading with Canadian officials to not get involved and delay sending more gray wolves to the state of Colorado.

Since the approval of the reintroduction of wolves back into Colorado, the topic has been highly polarizing. Ranchers are worried about their livelihoods with the predators and supporters of the reintroduction of wolves say it's the right thing to do to have the species back in the state.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife has already had to relocate the Copper Creek Wolf Pack due to depredations in the original area. The newest batch of wolves could be released into Garfield, Eagle, or Pitkin Counties. More on the relocation areas for the latest batch of reintroduced wolves can be found HERE.
