Visitors at a popular Colorado ski area got quite the sight this week, when a large moose and her calf took a casual afternoon stroll through the village.

The two moose were first seen around 10:30 a.m., munching on a snack outside of the Zephyr Mountain Lodge at Winter Park Resort.

A crowd soon gathered to watch the adorable pair, as they made their way to the front garden bed to lay down and take a rest. Hotel guests excitedly watched the scene unfold from their balconies. Resort staff made sure that onlookers kept a safe distance from the large animals, especially those entering and exiting the hotel as they had to walk right past both of the moose to do so.

About an hour later, the mom and calf made their way further into the village, once again stopping for snacks (and leaving evidence of their route) along the way.

Eventually, the ungulates ventured away from the village, heading back towards the trees.

This isn't the first time moose have been seen wandering through Winter Park Resort this season. In February, a moose was spotted hanging out near the Prospector chair lift and once again down in the village. On occasion, ski patrol even has to close some of the runs due to moose activity in the area.

While it's not uncommon to see these animals up in Colorado's high country, it doesn't make it any less cool when you do!
