Meet the 2022-2023 Weld County Fair Royalty
The Weld County Fair is a celebration of agriculture and community. It's a great opportunity for people to learn about where their food comes from and to see the hard work that farmers and ranchers put in.
The fair is held every year in July at the Weld County Fairgrounds in Greeley, Colorado. This year's fair will be held from July 22nd to the 30th.
The Weld County Fair is a family-friendly event that offers something for everyone. There are livestock shows, a ranch rodeo, a movie night in the park, vendors, kids' activities, agriculture exhibits, history exhibits, and art exhibits.
A Conversation with the Weld County Fair Royalty
I recently had the opportunity to speak with the Weld County Fair royalty, Avery Loveland (queen 2022-2033) Katie Holcomb (Weld County Fair Attendant 2022-2023) and Laura Stephens (Weld County Fair Attendant 2022-2023). Here's what they had to say about the fair:
- Avery Loveland: "The Weld County Fair is a celebration of agriculture and community. It's a great opportunity for people to learn about where their food comes from and to see the hard work that farmers and ranchers put in."
- Katie Holcomb: "We don't have a large carnival, we don't have a lot of rides or concessions, w e like to focus on the 4-Hers and their projects and livestock. We focus more on agriculture and not necessarily the fun rides."
- Laura Stephens: "Our biggest role is mostly to advocate for agriculture… and to showcase what we do and get more people to learn about 4-H and FFA."
