Major Layoffs Coming to Colorado This Summer
Summer is supposed to be a time of warm weather, fun trips, and amazing memories with family or friends.
However, this summer season is going to be a difficult one for nearly a hundred Colorado workers.
Since the start of the year, approximately 2,102 Coloradans were laid off, according to the Department of Labor and Employment.

What Triggers a Mass Layoff Notification in Colorado?
Whenever a company lays off a hundred or more people, officials from within the group have to provide a sixty day notice to the workers as well as the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

Amentum Announces Permanent Layoffs in Pueblo
Another company is laying off workers here in Colorado.
This time it is an Engineering company called Amentum with a plant in Pueblo.
On June 5th, representatives sent out the official notification to Colorado WARN that this plant would be cutting jobs.
The project at the Pueblo Chemical Agent – Destruction Pilot Plant at the Pueblo Chemical Depot actually "completed its operations mission and will commence with closure activities," according to the official statement.
What’s Happening at the Pueblo Chemical Depot?
All of the employees are set to be "permanently released" from the project as their duties come to an end. The closure is set to take place sometime this August once the Pueblo project is completed.
Multiple positions have been eliminated at this plant. All of the employees who are a part of this reduction in the work force have been notified.
Company representatives made it crystal clear that this is not a temporary layoff.
In total, Amentum will be laying off 92 Colorado employees this summer. This includes nineteen mechanical technicians, eight ordinance technicians, eight control room operators, and many other technical jobs.
