On Wednesday morning (August 12), a deputy of the Larimer County Sheriff's Office was booked on allegations of assault involving child abuse and domestic violence. According to the Coloradoan, the Sheriff's office found enough probable cause to press criminal charges of third-degree assault on Jacob Ediger, a thirty-seven-year-old, four-year veteran of the department. Awaiting the next step in the investigation, Ediger was placed on paid administrative leave.

According to reports, the victim was not in need of medical treatment after deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance near Loveland in the area of Jefferson Dr and East 41st St. The only information at this time is that the incident was not work-related, and no weapons were involved.
