JCPenney Store Closures Continue, One in Colorado Closing Forever
It is an incredibly unfortunate reality to see more businesses close in Colorado. We have been seeing many closures of big chains in the past couple of years.
Restaurants like Red Lobster have closed for good, and businesses like 7-11 and Macy's have been shutting down. Even local restaurants and independently owned coffee shops have been shutting down at a rapid pace.
It is sad to see and we are hoping that the closures become fewer and farther between. Unfortunately, another chain will be closing in Colorado.
JCPenny to Permanently Shut Down Colorado Location
JCPenny filed for bankruptcy a few years ago, but they are still hanging on. There are over 600 locations across the country. However, JCPenny has been trimming the fat trying to scrape themselves out of their tough financial situation.

Another one of those financial scrapings just happened. JCPenny announced that they will be shutting down a total of eight stores by the middle of 2025.
Included in those closures is a JCPenny location in Denver.
Which JCPenny Location in Colorado Will Shut Down
JCPenny at The Shops at Northfield in Denver will shut down. The Denver Post reports that the location will permanently shut down on May 25. We imagine there are going to be a ton of sales happening to clear out their inventory. Make sure to keep an eye out for that.
There is no word on what will replace the JCPenny at The Shops at Northfield, but stay tuned for more updates.
