As 2024 rolls on, we're saying goodbye to another popular national chain across Colorado and nationwide. Some of the 8 local Colorado locations are in their final days this week.

It's a trend that we hoped wouldn't remain as we kicked off 2024. So much promise and hope for a turnaround from 2023, but here we are, mid-day through May, and saying goodbye to another popular store, Colorado-wide.

Be it food, music, clothes, etc., we all have our favorite go-to shops, stores, and restaurants. When one of those favorite go-to's has to go away, it's always a pretty big bummer. That's the case with over 540 locations nationwide, including 8 locations in Colorado alone.

Clothing Retailer Rue21 Is Closing All Colorado Stores

After filing Chapter bankruptcy for the third time, the popular Rue21 has announced plans to close all of its 500+ stores nationwide, including all of their 8 location across Colorado.

While selling the business was Rue21 was plan A, the bids they received were less than they could make just liquidating the remaining merchandise and closing all locations.

When we visited the location closest to us on Mother's Day, it only had 4 days left with all items 60% off.

While each location's closing time will vary based on inventory, these stores waste no time liquidating what's left to close the doors as quickly as possible. The Longmont Location on Ken Pratt BLVD will be closed for good on Wednesday, May 15th.

Sure, there are many other similar shops, but when you find one that you finally can rely on to provide the look and feel that you love, it's always a sad day to see them leave. all Rue21 locations in Colorado and nationwide are expected to be closed by the end of June at the very latest. We're sick of losing places like Rue and all of the ones below...
