Running any small business in Colorado takes a lot of time, energy, and, more often than not, luck. A little coffee shop that had much more than just coffee announced that it would be closing after seven years.

What Else Did Windsor Lake Coffee Have Besides Coffee?

Windsor Lake Coffee, located in Downtown Windsor, announced in September of 2025 that they would be closing the doors for good on September 25, 2025. The coffee shop also had breakfast and lunch, ice cream and homemade cakes. How many places actually sell cakes, these days?

Though there was House of Windsor before Windsor Lake Coffee, finding information on the establishment is very difficult.

With our radio stations located in Downtown Windsor, we take a strong interest in the Downtown area. In the decades that I've worked in Downtown Windsor, I can tell you that much has changed over the years. Businesses open, businesses close, but losing Windsor Lake Coffee is a big loss.

I often stopped in at Windsor Lake Coffee; it was a comfortable spot to sit, converse, read, or just enjoy a cup of coffee or meal. During the pandemic, their ice cream shop window was a blessing to their business (people couldn't come in) and their customers.

Why is Windsor Lake Coffee in Windsor, Colorado Closing?

According to their Facebook post about the closure, it sounds like that in the effort to find a new/different location, the shop ran out of options and had to close.

While there are still a few independent coffee shops remaining in town after Windsor Lake Coffee's departure, Downtown won't be the same without them.
