The Kroenke name is pretty legendary in Colorado sports, as their business Kroenke Sports & Entertainment are based here and own the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Mammoth. All those teams have obviously found quite a bit of success over the years, and much like the Penners have a great number of fans in the state.

But they also have the controlling ownership of the Los Angeles Rams, having purchased their stake back in 2010. The Rams just traded for Myles Garret (poor Cleveland - yet again). And now they are heavily favored to win the NFC and the Super Bowl for the 2026 season.

If the Rams and Broncos happened to meet in the Super Bowl, both families will be 'Colorado families.' Even stranger - wait for it - they're kind of related.

The Broncos ownership group is led by billionaire Rob Walton, who of course is of the "Walmart" Walton family. The other two marquee names on the Broncos ownership is Greg Penner and Rob Walton's daughter, Carrie Walton-Penner.

The Rams primary owner is Stan Kroenke, who's wife is Ann Walton Kroenke. Yep, the same Walton's. Ann is Rob Walton's cousin.

If the Broncos and the Rams met in the Super Bowl, it would literally be family vs. family, both of whom are currently based in the state of Colorado.
