One of the perks of living in Florida was the Cuban sandwiches. I got addicted to them instantly and every time we make a trip down there to visit family, I get my fill. The one and only thing I wanted for my birthday this year was a Cuban sandwich... and I found it! I will admit, it was better than anything I have ever had in Florida too.

This is a little hole in the wall place down in Lakewood. I have driven by it many times, but I never knew it was there until my wife did a bit of searching. Frijoles Cuban Cafe is located off of West Alameda Parkway in the King Soopers parking lot. When I walked in, I knew I was going to like this place before I even took a bite. It is hard to explain why, but it just felt good. I knew what I wanted, so I didn't even have to look at the menu... The Cuban Sandwich! The Cuban bread and the pork is what really makes the sandwich and Frijoles hit it dead on! This sandwich was hands down one of the best sandwiches I have ever had... That is saying a lot too!

I am looking forward to the day we get to go back! I also found my new favorite hot sauce at Frijoles too! Even though it is not from Cuba, I ate this with joy. Spicy and flavorful too!

As soon as we were finished up eating, I made it my mission to find a bottle of this. I did, with success!

I also bought two different bottles of hot sauce too! I have tried the Caribbean and enjoyed it. I have yet to try the black hot sauce, though I have heard that it is best in marinades.

If you ever find yourself in Lakewood, I highly suggest you give Firjoles a shot! They are located at 12095 W Alameda Pkwy.
