
Southbound I-25 Closed Due to Crash
The Monday morning commute in Northern Colorado is off to a rough start if you are traveling southbound on Interstate 25 to work in the Longmont or Denver Metro Areas, as a crash has closed the interstate.
Crash Closes Southbound Interstate 25 in Mead, Colorado
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, all southbound lanes of Interstate 25 are closed at Exit 245 to Colorado 119 due to the accident and safety concerns.

All traffic will have to exit at Weld County Road 34 due to the crash near the Colorado 66 exit. Currently, there is no estimated time as to when Southbound Interstate 25 will reopen. It is advised that you take precautions and take an alternate route to your destination.
The Colorado State Patrol has given more information on the crash. According to the press release, the accident occurred at approximately 5:55 a.m. Two vehicles, a Ford Super Duty pickup truck and a work van, were involved. The accident resulted in the Ford pickup truck rolling over, and killing the driver.
The male of the Ford pickup truck was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the deceased drivers will be released by the Weld County Coroner after the next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the work van had no reported injuries. Currently, the Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. There is no current estimated time as to when the southbound lanes of Interstate 25 will reopen at this time.
