We have almost made it through the toughest few weeks of the year for a sports fan. The time between when the Super Bowl ends and the beginning of the NASCAR season is a vast wasteland of nothingness. There is the NBA but we haven't had a team that matters or even gives you a reason to cheer for them in years. The Avs are in the hunt for the final playoff spot but that is hardly enough to fill the giant sports void. This weekend, the wait is over.

Sunday is the Daytona 500. The Super Bowl of NASCAR. There are many fans who only watch one race a year and this is it. It is like the big game in football where people have big parties and for one weekend a year, we all pretend to be racing experts. Jeff Gordon, who is racing in his last full season, will be sitting on in the pole position when the flag drops. Will you be watching?
