We previously reported that Greeley was launching a new speeding camera program. The program began on May 14. You may have noticed vehicles with cameras attached to them.

What Are These Camera Vans Doing in Greeley?
These vehicles are mobile speed enforcers. The goal for the city of Greeley is to distribute speeding tickets in hopes that drivers in Northern Colorado slow down. It is a program that is similar to the ones launched in Loveland and Fort Collins.
The mobile speed cameras were installed on May 14. However, the cameras were only giving drivers warnings instead of fines and citations.
Go 25 Over? You Could Be Facing a Misdemeanor
This was just for the first 30 days. We are past that now. Now, the speeding cameras that have been installed have officially started giving out citations.
The Greeley Police Department will issue citations. If drivers are going 25 miles per hour over the speed limit there could be major consequences.
... if the vans capture a driver going 25mph or more over the posted limit, the Greeley Police Department has the option to increase the citation to a misdemeanor offense...
