A beloved coffee shop in Greeley will be closing its doors for good this fall.

It's always heartbreaking when you find out a local business you supported for years will be shutting down.

John Galt Coffee Co. In Greeley Announces Its Closure

At the beginning of September, the owners of John Galt Coffee Co. in Greeley announced that they would be permanently closing up the shop. John Galt's has been a fixture in Northern Colorado for thirteen years.

Why the Greeley Coffee Shop is Closing

In a social media statement, the team confirmed that the coffee spot's owner, TJ, has been dealing with chronic pain which played a major part in this decision.

"This condition has worsened over time, and has dramatically interfered with my ability to do this kind of work. Because of this, we are not sustainable," TJ said on Facebook.

"But the sands of time wait for no one..."

This decision has been something the owner has been pushing off for a long time.

What Will Happen to the Atlas Theater Space?

The business is located in the Atlas Theater. Going forward, that space will be fully under their events company, according to the social media statement.

"We are releasing the space to help support their future with a unified vision. This change gives them an opportunity to refresh and renew, and relaunch their own coffee and cocktails services," the Facebook post from the Greeley coffee spot reads.
