It is that time of the year when we notice more insects in our yards and in our homes in Colorado.

It is that time of year when I lose sleep at night because my girlfriend wakes me up to squish a spider, moth, or whatever bug is trying to have a sleepover.

I am not fearful of bugs, thankfully. I have no problem getting rid of them and I certainly don't scream when I see them.

However, there is a common bug in my lawn that many Coloradans have complained they started seeing.

My biggest grievance with grasshoppers is that they jump all over me. I promise I am not being dramatic when I say that I had a full-blown grasshopper infestation last summer. It was overwhelming. Unfortunately, that problem is happening once again.

My problem with grasshoppers is far less impactful compared to other Colorado residents. Gardeners and those who manage field crops are beyond frustrated.
