18-year-old Danielle Hopton was killed last weekend.

While her attacker, who knew the victim has been caught and arrested, there is so much healing to be done for Danielle's family and friends.

According to KDVR, this is where her classmates come into play as they have joined together and started a GoFundMe page to honor her.

Danielle was a big fan of tennis and an avid animal lover so that's what her friends are focusing on with this GoFundMe that's set up to help three organizations, the Larimer County Humane Society, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Crossroads Safe House.

The GoFundMe had already exceed its initial $15,000 goal as of Wednesday morning (Feb. 10). More than 450 donors have already contributed in varying amounts towards the fund.

If you would like to help out and make a donation in Danielle's name, you can do so right HERE.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Danielle's family and friends...what a great way to honor her.

Hopton's alleged attacker was booked into Larimer County Jail on vharges including: first degree murder, domestic violence, violation of a protection order and violation of bail bond conditions. The suspect has been identified as  20-year-old Stephen McNeil.
