The Fort Collins intersection of West Harmony Road and South Shields Street was closed for about five hours after a three-car accident on Friday night (Feb. 7).

Fort Collins Police said in a press release 17- and 19-year-old female passengers from Loveland were transported to a local hospital "for treatment of serious injuries" after the incident.

The crash occurred around 5:25 p.m.

According to the press release, the women were riding in a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a a 22-year-old male from Berthoud.

The Grand Cherokee attempted to make a left turn from eastbound W. Harmony Rd. onto S. Shields St. and collided on the passenger side with the front of a 1993 Dodge Ram truck that was travelling west on Harmony.

The Grand Cherokee continued northwest and collided with the front of a stopped Toyota Corolla.

The 23-year-old man driving the Dodge Ram and a passenger were treated for injuries and released at the scene. So was the Grand Cherokee driver.

The driver of 29-year-old female from Boulder driving the Toyota did not sustain injuries.
