Fort Collins 2017 4th of July Celebration – Parade Fireworks and More
The 4th of July celebration in Fort Collins starts with a 5k run early in the morning and ends with an impressive fireworks display over Sheldon Lake in City Park. We have the list of events for you.
Firecracker 5K
The Firecracker 5K starts and ends at Fort Collins City Park. Race-day registration starts at 6:15 a.m. The citizen’s race begins at 7:30 a.m. You can walk, jog, run or race.
Golf Tournament
You can tee off your Independence Day with a two person, best ball golf tournament at historic City Park Nine Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Call 970.221.6650 for details.
Old Timer's Game
The 35th Annual Old Timer's Game is at City Park North Ballfield at 9:30 a.m.
City of Fort Collins parade
The parade route will be eastbound on Mountain Avenue from Jackson to Meldrum. Guest may view the parade from available areas on Mountain Avenue. Eastbound Mountain Avenue will be closed to traffic at 7:00 AM. Parking can be found on surrounding streets, please do not block access to residences or alley ways. The parade will begin at 10:00 AM.
Old Fashioned 4th of July at Avery House
The Old-Fashioned Fourth of July at the 1879 Avery House Date is from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 328 W. Mountain Ave. Admission is free and promises fun for all ages.
Live Music at City Park
There will be live music at City Park from 4:15 PM-9:30 p.m. The music is presented by Blue Ocean Foundation.
City of Fort Collins Fireworks Display
The professional fireworks display will begin at about 9:35 p.m. over Sheldon Lake. Pets, alcohol and personal fireworks are not permitted in City Park. In the case of a weather event, the fireworks display may be delayed until 10:00 p.m. If the weather has not cleared by 10:00 p.m., the display will be postponed to July 5 at dusk.
Fireworks are illegal in Fort Collins
Use of all fireworks is illegal all the time within the city limits. Possession and storing of fireworks in Fort Collins are also prohibited. A violation could result in a fine up to $2,830. Representatives from Fort Collins Police Services and Poudre Fire Authority will be out on fireworks patrol on and around July 4.
