Why Newest Park in Fort Collins Might Be the Best in Colorado
A brand new park in Fort Collins has brought a lot of excitement to the southeast corner of the city. On October 23, the city of Fort Collins had a ribbon-cutting ceremony that introduced Northern Colorado to Dovetail Park.
The planning for Dovetail Park began back in 2019, and construction began last July. It seems like the wait was definitely worth it because this park looks amazing.
Where Dovetail Park Is
Dovetail Park is located by the Rigden Farm neighborhood in Fort Collins and is 6 acres. Dovetail Park is connected to the Bucking Horse neighborhood.
There is an open field, but the best part about the newest park in Fort Collins is the activities.
Activities at Dovetail Park
According to the city of Fort Collins, these are the activities that make the new Dovetail Park unique.
- Picnic pavilion
- Playground
- Walking paths
- Bocce Ball
- Ping Pong
- Hammock Garden
- Corn Hole
This seems awesome for all ages. I am not a parent, but I could imagine if I were, I would want to hang out in the hammock garden when I wait for my kids to get rid of all of their energy.
Parks are far more entertaining these days compared to when I was a kid, and here is a prime example of that.
Northern Colorado has many epic parks, and Dovetail might be the best one yet. Look out Twin Silo Park, you have some new competition.
Dovetail Park's Hours
The park is open from 5 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven days a week.
