The Denver Police department have updated their use-of-force policy to ban choke holds and "carotid compression techniques" that stop blood from flowing to the head or neck. They also updated a reporting policy for officers that draw their gun on a suspected criminal. Now, officers will have to report every instance to their supervisor.

Additionally, Denver Police SWAT unit are now required to activate their body cameras "when executing tactical operations," as stated in a press release.

Last week, we told you about a proposed bill that would strip officers of their immunity in shooting cases, allowing the victim or the victim's family to sue the officer personally.
