
Layoffs Coming for More Than 100 Colorado Oil and Gas Employees
One of the worst life experiences is dealing with being laid off. I have had the displeasure of being laid off more than once in my life, and the uncertainty that comes with it is anxiety-inducing. You worry about paying your bills and what will happen financially in your future.
More layoffs are coming to Colorado soon, and over 100 Coloradans will be affected. A new Colorado WARN notification has been announced for a company in Colorado of upcoming layoffs.
What is a WARN Notification in Colorado?
The state of Colorado has a site that is dedicated to informing employees of upcoming layoffs within the state. The Worker Adjustment and Retaining Notification Act is a law that requires employers to provide employees experiencing loss of employment a 60-day notice prior to the official layoffs within the company.

While this is a great way to prepare for an impending layoff, there are exclusions and exceptions for Colorado WARN notifications.
Mass Layoffs Coming to an Oil Company in Colorado
A WARN notice was given for 125 employees in Denver at Chevron on May 5, 2025. The date notifying employees when the layoffs will occur is July 1, 2025, and the stated reason for the mass layoff at Chevron is a reduction in force.

According to KDVR, these affected jobs will be within Chevron's regional headquarters located in Denver. The WARN notification states that Chevron will attempt to redeploy employees to other company locations that may reduce the number of layoffs that the Denver regional headquarters.
