The Greeley Crime log always keeps us entertained when it comes to highlighting their most unusual calls, but this month, we have the Montrose County Sheriff's Office to thank for the weirdest report of them all.

Last weekend, the Montrose County Sheriff's Office received a call at 10:32 p.m. from a woman stating that a foot-long alligator was on her porch. When Sargeant Cox and Deputy Lovato arrived on scene to catch said alligator however, it was determined that the creature in question was actually an eight inch salamander. The Western tiger salamander was designated as the official state amphibian of Colorado in 2012, but isn't something many of us Coloradans are used to seeing on a regular basis. They are nocturnal, which explains why the little guy was found exploring at night.
