Thanks to modern day technology the National Transportation Safety Board has been able to narrow down possible causes to a plane crash in near Watkins, Colorado in May of 2014. Investigators were able to retrieve data recorded on a GoPro device found at the crash site. The GoPro proves that selfies were taken with a flash during take off, the climb and the flight pattern.

According to NBC news, the pilot, Amritpal Singh, was likely disorientated from the flash caused by the selfies taken with his cellphone. He and his passenger died in the crash.
