There is no better feeling in the world than when you perfectly parallel park on the street.

It wasn't until recently that I became comfortable with street parking. For two years, I lived in a downtown apartment. While I loved how close I was to work and restaurants, the parking situation was an absolute nightmare.

After just a few months living in this busy area, I became a bit of a parallel parking pro.

As much of a pro as you can be when you're parking a tiny, Toyota Corolla.

Trucks on the other hand, are a completely different story. There is no way I can pull that parking job off.

Well, here in the Centennial State, you might start spotting them a lot more frequently over the next few years.

Kei trucks otherwise known as keitora trucks might be small but they are mighty in power. These vehicles have a 660cc engine and due to their lightweight design they "offer exceptional fuel economy."

Plus, they are apparently great for the environment!

New Colorado Law Legalizes Kei Trucks on Public Roads

Just this week, Colorado Governor signed a bill into law that legalizes the use of Kei cars and trucks on state roads, according to reports. However, the vehicle is required to be at least 25 years old.

This law will go into effect in July of 2027. 

If you already are in possession of a Kei vehicle, you will have to wait until January 1st of 2028 to register. Officials say that this timeframe will allow the state of Colorado to make changes to the emissions systems and DMV.

How Much Do Kei Trucks Cost in Colorado?

If you are reading this and thinking, "Dang! Those trucks look cool! Now I want one," then I've got some good news for you.

These bad boys are not obscenely expensive. According to the official, Kei website a Suzuki Kei Truck 2WD-MT 1993 is going for about $8,350.00 right now.
