Colorado Is One of the Most Patriotic States in the Country
Fourth of July is fast approaching, and many are already focused on what they are going to do, what they are going to eat, and how many fireworks they plan to light off. While the holiday is filled with hamburgers and hot dogs, parades, family, friends, and plenty of fun, it is also about being patriotic. This year is a big year to show off your patriotism, especially here in Colorado, as the United States will celebrate its 250th birthday, and Colorado will celebrate its 150th. When it comes to patriotism, which state shows the most patriotism, and how does Colorado compare?
The Most and Least Patriotic States

As the Fourth of July approaches, American flags will be flying more than usual, and many will be showing off their red, white, and blue pride with decorations, t-shirts, and hats. WalletHub recently released a list ranking the most patriotic states to the least, and used categories such as military engagement and civic engagement to help them rank the states. According to the study, the most patriotic state in America is Virginia, with Montana being second, and Vermont rounding out the top three. The least patriotic state is Arkansas, with New York surprisingly being the second least patriotic and Louisiana rounding out the bottom three. Where does Colorado fall on the list?
Is Colorado a Patriotic State?

Colorado barely missed out on the top three, coming in as the fourth most patriotic state. Colorado is tenth in military engagement and fifth in civic engagement. Colorado is fourth for the most Peace Corps volunteers per capita. Colorado is also home to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, meaning the state is full of military members. While the state may not be number one, expect to see plenty of American pride over the next month as the Fourth approaches.
