Greeley Drops the Puck: Colorado Grit Hockey Team Evicted from Ice Haus
It appears that hockey is on ice in the city of Greeley after city officials terminated the lease of the North American Hockey League team in Northern Colorado.
The Colorado Grit Hockey team posted the news on Wednesday, May 21, on Facebook, stating that the city had officially terminated the team's five-year lease at the Greeley Ice Haus two years into the agreement.
9 News says that the city officials of Greeley terminated the lease of the hockey team due to the terms of the user agreement of the facilities were not being upheld. The Colorado Grit hockey team Facebook page responded to the allegations and also claims that the City of Greeley failed to uphold its obligations under the signed lease at the Greeley Ice Haus.

As a result, the North American Hockey League has suspended the Colorado Grit for playing one season.
The Colorado Grit will return—bigger, stronger, and more determined than ever in the 2026–2027 season. It’s just a question of where, not when. This temporary setback will not define us.
The Colorado Grit also made a special mention of those who have made financial commitments to the team, such as season ticket holders, sponsors, and partners, saying they will be made whole.
