
Colorado Among Top Pumpkin Producers in U.S.
If you want to find a Colorado-grown pumpkin to display this fall, it should be pretty easy.
According to Zippia Colorado is a top pumpkin producer. The ranking takes the number of pumpkin farms and acreage dedicated to pumpkins into account.
Illinois is No. 1, and Colorado is No. 16. Not bad really. Alaska was ranked last with our Wyoming neighbors to the north ranking No. 49.
Apparently, there are 242 pumpkin farms in our state. Colorado dedicates 2,010 acres to growing pumpkins.
The heaviest pumpkin weighed 1,810 lb 8 oz and was grown in Minnesota.
