City of Loveland Parks & Recreation Department is building a trail and you can be a part of it.

It's all happening at Willow Bend Natural Area, 2538 East First Street, Saturday June 1st to celebrate National Trails Day.

According to a Loveland press release, individuals across the country will set the world record for the most people improving trails in a single day during the 27th annual American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day.

American Hiking invites everyone to help set the world record for National Trails Day and volunteer. All ages welcome, and all tools and materials are provided (including gloves, but you are encouraged to bring your own).

Open Lands & Trails begins at 9 a.m. and is hosting a trail building event at Willow Bend Natural Area by the Big Thompson River.

According to a Loveland press release, Willow Bend is closed to the public until trails and other amenities are installed, so this opportunity provides a sneak peek at the site.
