CDOT Finalizes Contract to Widen I-25 in Northern Colorado
Two lanes could soon be a thing of the past on I-25 in Northern Colorado as CDOT has finalized the contract to widen the interstate in both directions from Johnstown up to Fort Collins.
Before you get too excited, there is one small catch. These new lanes are going to come with a fee... Yep, they will be tolled express lanes. The new express lanes will add an additional lane to I-25 and also widen bridges, create a new pedestrian access at Kendall Parkway and connect the Cache la Poudre River Regional Trail under I-25.
The project is expected to cost approximately $248 million dollars with the expectation of being completed in late 2021.
