The Evans Police Department notified residents in the town, particularly those in the Grapevine Hollow subdivision, to be extra vigilant today, as a massive bull moose is in the vicinity.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, the Evans Police Department posted a notice on Facebook stating that officers from the department and the Department of Wildlife are aware of the situation and are monitoring it to ensure the best safety of both residents and the bull moose.
Tips to Stay Safe Around Moose
While both agencies are navigating the best course of action to capture the moose safely, the Evans Police Department wants residents to remain safe with these tips:
- Moose can be unpredictable and dangerous, especially if they feel they are threatened.
- Keep all dogs on a leash to prevent disturbing or being injured by the bull moose.
- Avoid approaching, taunting, or feeding the moose.
- Do not gather in groups to witness the moose in the area. Groups of people can cause stress and agitation, which could create a dangerous environment for the moose and the surrounding humans.
- Do not attempt to approach the moose to get a selfie with it or try to feed it.
