Broncos Say Goodbye To Former 1st Round Pick Bradley Chubb

Bradley Chubb was the Broncos first selection in the 2018 draft, a draft that saw the likes of Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley and Lamar Jackson, the Broncos used their first round pick, the 5th overall on the linebacker from North Carolina State.

Chubb had a phenomenal rookie season playing alongside Von Miller, he made an immediate impact by racking up 12 sacks but since then, he's failed to live up to that first round hype.

Chubb was solid in the 2020 season with 7 sacks and was off to a great start in the first two games this year racking up 5.5 sacks but has been a little quiet in the past month so the Broncos, who due to the Russell Wilson trade are short on cash and draft picks sent Chubb packing to Florida and will now be in a Miami Dolphins uniform.

Chubb, gracious in his departure had this to say to 9 News after learning of the trade:

"It was the city (Denver) that gave me my first opportunity to be in the NFL and live out my childhood dream,'' Chubb said in a phone call with 9NEWS minutes after the trade. "I'm much appreciative of everything and just looking forward to a new chapter in my life."

"It's the business side, I understand that,'' Chubb said. "It sucks at the moment just because of the guys I'm leaving back there. The relationships I've built over the last couple years. Walking into this facility every day, it's going to be different to go into a different one but I'm excited about the new journey God has for me and my family so I'm looking forward to it."

Bradley Chubb, while never really fully turning into that dominant player that a #5 pick is expected to become was a solid player when healthy and looks to provide the Dolphins defense with a spark to take them to the next level. In the trade, the Broncos received a 1st round pick in the 2023 draft, a 4th round pick in 2024 and running back Chase Edmonds. The Broncos picked up Jacob Martin from the Jets to help fill the void left by Chubb as well.
