Football season is in the air. With the Denver Broncos in the midst of training camp and their preseason schedule and the start of the regular season just a couple of weeks away, if you're a football fan like me...you are giddy.

We should also be excited because in addition to all of the NFL action we get to enjoy along with the various college programs in our region, Colorado is about to get another football team...that plays indoors.

According to KDVR, Colorado is getting a brand new indoor franchise and the big wigs are putting US in charge of coming up with a team name.

The format is going to be bracketed sort of like a March Madness bracket and feature 24 names, each week team names will be eliminated until ultimately there is only one name left.

Now if you remember back in the day, we had the Colorado Crush of the indoor league which were owned by John Elway, Pat Bowlen and Stan Kroenke. The Crush played at (what was then called the Pepsi Center) and captured the 2005 Arena Bowl Championship.

The Crush played in Denver from 2003-2008 and while the new indoor team won't be playing in what is now Ball Arena, they're still looking for a location to play for when they start playing in 2022.
