Westminster Natural Gas Explosion Destroys Homes [UPDATED]

Reports are coming in from many sources that there has been a large explosion in Westminster, CO. A 7 News helicopter confirmed those reports shooting video that the photo below came from showing the scene.

The explosion that took place inside the demolished home shown above is presumed to have been caused by a natural gas leak. According to 7 News the explosion also caused damage to at least two other homes in the area when it took place at approximately 11:30 AM this morning.

Westminster emergency authorities were immediately on site investigating the explosion and evacuating neighboring Cul-de-Sacs in case of further danger. People have indicated that they felt the blast in Broomfield. The explosion happened near U.S 36 and the old Westminster Mall.
