2017 Colorado Haunted Houses to Check Out This Season
The time of year is here where it's alright to jump out of your shoes when someone spooks you from around the corner. That's right, haunted house season is upon us in Colorado!
If you're new to Colorado, or haven't taken the chance to be scared beyond belief at one of the many houses in the state, you may be wondering where you can go to take in the season.
Well here is your comprehensive list of haunted houses within driving distance of Northern Colorado that you can have some fun at this year. Some of them will scare you beyond belief, while others will just make your heart skip a tiny beat.
Either way, I highly advise you to check these out this year. Believe me, you'll be talking about them for the rest of 2017!

13th Floor Haunted House - Denver
I had the chance to check out the 13th Floor Haunted House for the first time in 2016, and this will go down as the BEST haunted house I have ever seen. With different themes listed on their website such as "Darkest Dreams", "Slaughter", and "Undead Restless Spirits", you can bet that they have put together another great year of haunts.
The 13th Floor Haunted House is located at 3400 E 52nd Avenue in Denver, and their opening day is Friday, September 22nd.

The Asylum Haunted House - Denver
The Asylum in Denver is another haunted house that will make you have some nightmares for the days following, and I am totally OK with that! This year they have themes like "Primitive Fear Walkers", "Contagium", and "Ridgegate The Condemned". The opening night for the Asylum is Friday, September 22nd and it's located at 6100 East 39th Avenue in Denver.

Fritzler Haunted Corn Maze - La Salle
Fritzler Corn Maze is back with their "Scream Acres Haunted Corn Maze", kicking off on September 29th. Plus they have brought back some of your favorite haunted attractions, including the Ghost Haunt and the Zombie Paintball Slayer. Fritzler Corn Maze is located at 20861 County Road 33 in La Salle.

Creepy Walk in the Woods - Loveland
The Creepy Walk in the Woods is located near Devil's Backbone west of Loveland, and is home to "Savage Woods". This year's event will take place starting October 13th and is $20 per person. The Creepy Walk in the Woods is NOT recommended for children under the age of 11 years old, so keep that in mind when you make your plans! They do also have a family friendly walk, but those dates hadn't been determined yet as of the writing of this story. The address for the Creepy Walk in the Woods is 1750 Savage Road in Loveland.

City of the Dead Haunted House - Henderson
The City of the Dead Haunted Houses has been featured by many national publications, including Buzzfeed and Hauntworld as Denver's scariest haunted house. So we think you need to check it out to find out for yourself! This year they have added themes such as "The Dead Rising", "Dark Souls", and "Carnival of Carnage". Plus they are the only haunted house in Denver to serve beer, which may make the scares easier to handle. They are located at 7007 East 88th Avenue in Henderson.

Haunted Field of Screams - Thornton
The Haunted Field of Screams in Thornton gives you three different "scare experiences" in one location, including the "Dead Man's Night Maze" and "Zombie Paintball Massacre". Their first night back scaring the public is Friday, September 29th. They are located at 10451 McKay Road in Thornton.

The Frightmare Compound - Westminster
The Frightmare Compound in Westminster starts on Friday, September 29th and is located at the southwest corner of 108th and Old Wadsworth. Not only do they have the compound, but they also have the House of Darkness and Lights Out for everyone to check out!
