Ways to Donate for Charley’s Honor Flight Northern Colorado Endurance Ride

Many are asking how they can donate to the 2015 Honor Flight Northern Colorado Endurance Ride. The following is a step-by-step cheat sheet on how to donate.

Let me start by saying again this will be my last attempt at completing this 10,000 mile Iron Butt ride in 240 hours or less. My attempt last year fell short 136 miles at the 240 hour mark and I will never be able to let it go if I don't give it one more shot. Be assured that I will always be involved in charity work, especially for our Veterans and Honor Flight Northern Colorado, but this is my last attempt for something this big and the bar has been set very high this year with a goal of $50,000, but, it won't happen without your help.

So how do you donate or sponsor miles? It's very easy to do at a $1 per mile. You can sponsor 1, 10, 100, 1000 miles or any increment you choose.

• You can donate online via the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County. Just make sure you let them know you are donating on behalf of Honor Flight Northern Colorado. If you donate online, I will have no way of knowing how much you donated (sponsored miles) so it's critical that you let me know by sending me an email (BikerDude80634@yahoo.com) or leaving a post or sending an email on the HFNC Endurance Ride Facebook page.
• If you’d like to send a check, please write it to CFSGWC c/o Honor Flight (Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County) and then put HF Endurance Ride in the memo line. Please mail to the attention of Charley Barnes at 5206 W 27th St., Greeley, Colorado 80634.
• You can come by the K99 studios (600 Main St, Windsor) during normal business hours, Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and drop off cash or check. Just make sure to include a short description of who it's from and any notes you want included on the ride page post when I officially log your miles.
• You call me during my live on-air show between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at 800-500-2599.
• You can send an email to BikerDude80634@yahoo.com. Just let me know how many miles you are sponsoring and who's it for or why you are sponsoring so I can include that when I post your miles/donation on the Facebook ride page.

Many are sponsoring miles for themselves, or for someone in the family, who has served our country; past or present. If you are sponsoring on behalf of someone, tell me why so I can mention that on the Facebook ride page.

$50,00 is a big goal but one I know we can achieve if we all act as one. Honor Flight Northern Colorado take Veterans to Washington D.C. from many surrounding states, not just Colorado, to go pay tribute to the Memorials and Monuments that were built to honor them. 630 World War II Veterans die each day; their time is running out, so it's imperative we get them to Washington D.C. at no expense to them. Honor Flight Northern Colorado also serves our Korea and Vietnam Veterans as well.

$50,00 means I have to raise $10,000 a month and I really need your help. There is a lot of money here in Northern Colorado and we need to tap into some of it. Many of you know heavy hitters in the oil field industry like Anadarko, Noble Energy, Halliburton, BP and others. Put a bug in their ear. How about Budweiser, Coors, State Farm, and other major corporations based right here in Colorado. Local HOG chapters, motorcycle dealers, Patriot Guard from not only Colorado, but surrounding states, VFW's, American Legions and all the others who love our Veterans should be willing to sponsor a few miles.

All money donated on behalf of this ride goes directly to Honor Flight Northern Colorado which is a 501c3 charity so it's tax deductible and many of these companies donate large amounts of money each year.
