Perhaps as much as any country artist, Kellie Pickler shares the details of her oft-tortured personal life with her fans and critics. On previous albums, she sang about her mother (‘I Wonder’) and an ex-boyfriend (‘Best Days of Your Life’). Unlike, say Taylor Swift, Pickler isn’t afraid to name names, but for the most part that’s because the “names” are related to her.

Kellie Pickler‘s new album is called ’100 Proof,’ and she brought it to ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ both literally and figuratively. She performed ‘Where’s Tammy Wynette,’ which is the first song on the new album. She also gifted Ellen DeGeneres, who had a birthday earlier this week, with a jar of moonshine!

Kellie Pickler releases her third studio album today (Jan. 24) and is sharing the stories behind each of the 11 tracks exclusively with Taste of Country. ’100 Proof’ plays almost like an autobiography of Pickler. There’s a song dedicated to her new husband and her father, as well as one inspired by her struggles to accept what’s left of her relationship with her mother.

It’s been almost three years since Kellie Pickler released her second album — but the wait for new music is almost over. Pickler, who recently wrapped up recording on her next release, says fans can expect to hear her adopt a more traditional sound this time around.

Tonight is the debut of the newly revamped American Idol. This has always been one of my favorite shows. I love to watch people get a chance to live out their dreams, that is the part of the show that is so riveting to me. The show gives a chance to people who normally would never get the chance. I love it. There have been many great country stars to come out the show.
