Kristi’s Big Night Out: Tonight Raises a Hammer for the Community
The Kristi Visocky Foundation will Raise the Roof tonight, literally. The foundation was formed to keep the spirit of Kristi alive and benefit the community that this young woman loved so dearly. Tonight their “Raise the Roof” event will benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Tonight the gang will gather 80’s style at the Drake Event Center off Shields and Drake in Fort Collins. The main objective tonight is to kick off the Kristi Visocky Memorial Fund Raise the Rood Campaign to build a house for Habitat for Humanity.
The celebration will come alive with 15 area restaurants, a silent auction and tunes by 80’s tribute band ‘Retro’. That’s pretty much the nuts and bolts of the evening.
Proceeds from the event will be used to kick start the campaign to break ground on the foundation’s newest project, a Habitat for Humanity House. Officially called The House that Kristi Built: Celebrating Community, this home will be a testament to the generous assistance and collaboration of hundreds of friends, family, co-workers and businesses who have supported the Kristi Visocky Foundation over the years.
I have known Donna and Bob Visocky for quite a few years and am destroyed that our friendship now is that much more tightly connected because of this awful ‘club’ we belong to, the one where know too well what it is like to lose a child. I admire what they have done to keep the spirit of their daughter alive, a young woman who gave of herself while she was here. Now they work hard going forward to assure that Kristi’s causes are fulfilled by giving back to the community, as Kristi thrived to do.
