An early morning two car accident in Fort Collins sent one woman to the hospital with injuries. According to the Coloradoan, the crash happened around 7:20 this morning near La Plata Avenue and Prospect Road. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and no citations have been issued yet.

Reports say that a red Saturn sedan was struck in the left turn lane of the westbound side of Prospect as it was preparing to turn southbound onto La Plata.

Fort Collins Police Officer M.W. Howard told the Coloradoan that the male driver said he was hit head on by a gold Acura Legend travelling eastbound on Prospect. The female drive of the Acura was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and her condition isn't currently known.
