I have done a lot of PR stunts in my radio days but nothing as adventurous as what I am about to do in June to benefit Honor Flight Northern Colorado.

At 0900 hours on 4 June, I will be departing from the Weld Country Veterans Memorial in Greeley (16th St and 35th Ave.) on one of the hardest Iron Butt rides...the 10/10ths which is 10,000 miles in 10 days. I thought it would be more interesting though to make it really difficult and added two additional Iron Butt rides. I will start this adventure by travelling from across the Canadian border to inside Mexico in 24 hours or less to complete the 'Border to Border.' That will be followed immediately by the 'Coast to Coast' ride which will take me from San Diego California to Jacksonville Florida in 48 hours or less for a total of 3 'extreme' Iron Butt rides all wrapped up in one monster ride for Honor Flight.

The ride will officially end at 0900 hours on Flag Day, Saturday, 14 June.

The idea is to pledge money for miles. $10 for 10 miles, $100 for 100 miles, $500 for 500 miles etc. The goal is to raise $10,000 to send 10 Veterans on a future Honor Flight to Washington D.C. The ride will also be streamed live here on our website and I will also have a GPS tracker so you can monitor the ride 24 hours a day.

We will have a page here on our website very soon that will house all the information and ways for you to donate online. If you want to donate right now, and I hope you do, please click on the big read link below to donate online. If you'd like to send a check, please write it to CFSGWC c/o Honor Flight (Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County) and then put HF Endurance Ride in the memo line and mail to the attention of Charley Barnes, 600 Main St., Windsor, CO 80550. If you donate online, it's imperative you send me an email to let me know how much you donated or want to pledge so I can keep track of the miles. You can also go to the official ride page and let me know there and please share the page.

If I am lucky enough to fill one sheet to the $10,000 mark, I will start a new sheet and so on. My promise to Northern Colorado Honor Flight is $10,000 but I know in my heart that Northern Colorado is good for at least $50,000 so it's my hope you will help me send 50 Veterans to Washington D.C.
