That’s Blake Shelton, JCP Cares Amabassador, to you, fans!

Country superstar Blake Shelton played a sold out show in Watertown, N.Y. last night (July 6) and he was able to honor serviceman and women in the process. At that very gig, Miranda Lambert‘s hubby also announced JCPenney’s new JCP Cares philanthropy, of which he will serve as ambassador. The program launched with JCP’s whopping $1 million donation, combined with round-up donations raised by customers through the month of July for the USO aka The United Service Organization.

The retailer will donate $1 (up to $50,000 ) to the USO for each customer that checks in via the Four Square application from July 23 through July 31. So, if you use Four Square and happen to be a JCPenney shopper, be sure and check in when you shop, as you will help raise money for a very good cause, supported by Shelton.

For the Watertown, N.Y. gig, JCPenney donated 300 complimentary tickets to soldiers and their families so they could enjoy some quality country entertainment. The servicepeople were also able to meet Shelton backstage too.
