Woman Dies in West Fort Collins House Fire [PICTURES]
A woman died over the weekend in an early-morning fire in a west Fort Collins home.
Poudre Fire Authority crews were dispatched to 4512 Idledale Drive at 4:41 am on Sunday and found the two-story, single-family home fully involved in fire.
Firefighters made a quick attack and searched for potential victims. They found a woman in a second-floor bedroom who broke the window but was unable to escape. UCHealth EMS units responded to the scene. They transported the woman by ambulance to Poudre Valley Hospital.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office also responded and assisted at the scene.
The Larimer County Coroner's Office notified the woman's immediate family, and will release her identity and cause of death.
The fire caused significant damage throughout the home, and extended to the basement and roof.The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
