
Wolf License Plates Available for Colorado Vehicles in 2024
Colorado is about to get another custom license plate in 2024. This "Born to Be Wild" license plate will raise funds for non-lethal means of the mitigation of gray wolves in the state of Colorado.
BLACK LICENSE PLATES NOW AVAILABLE FOR YOUR VEHICLE IN COLORADO
The Born to Be Wild license plates are a part of HB23-1265 and will be available for passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles, noncommercial vehicles, and recreational motor vehicles.

Fees that will be associated with the new Born to Be Wild Colorado license plate include:
- A one-time fee of $25 is credited to the highway users tax fund.
- An annual $50 fee that credits the wildlife cash fund for the Division of Parks and Wildlife.
- A one-time fee of $25 that credits the Colorado DRIVES vehicle services account.
The Division of Parks and Wildlife is directed to use the money collected and credited in the wildlife cash fund for the implementation of nonlethal means for the mitigation and prevention of conflict with gray wolves in the state of Colorado.

The State of Colorado will reintroduce gray wolves back into the wildlife population by the end of 2023. More than two years of work has been invested in the wolf restoration and management plan. More information can be found on Colorado's wolf reintroduction HERE.
More than 4,500 Colorado residents have signed up for the Born to Be Wild license plate within 720 hours of the announcement at Wolfplate.org.
