Take a Look at Windsor’s Cool New ‘Pour Your Own Beer’ Restaurant/Bar
It's been the talk of Windsor since news came out that a 2-story restaurant/bar with a "pour your own beer wall" was coming. Howlers & Growlers is now open; take a look and find out how that "beer wall' works.
Howlers & Growlers TapHouse and Eatery in Windsor, is located just east of the Highway 257 and Eastman Park Drive intersection. It's a great location, as there's nothing like it in the area, and with the Future Legends Sports Complex ramping up. I stopped in on their opening weekend November 5, 2022.
On that Saturday that I, along with a couple of friends, hit up Howlers & Growlers in Windsor, they opened up at 4p. We had stopped by at 2p, and the parking lot was pretty empty. By the time we arrived back at 4:45, the place was jam packed; everyone seemed eager to get in and check it out.

I really wasn't sure on what to expect with this new establishment. I knew it would have a "pour your own beer" wall, but that was about it. Though it's cool, it's definitely about more than just that wall; they have a great food menu as well, including brunch on the weekend. The seating is good, especially upstairs with that rooftop bar and patio. It was too chilly the day that we stopped in to open up the doors, but I can see upstairs being "the place to be" on warm days, and the views are super.
The beer wall has 13 stations, with two taps at each station. After starting a tab with a credit/debit card you get a card that keeps track of what your pouring, and keeps a running tally as you fill your glass(es). Keep in mind, that like at a buffet, you need to get a fresh glass with each trip to the wall. I found it fun and easy, with the prices of the beers, agreeable.
We had a good time, checking Howlers & Growlers out; though they were busy, the staff handled it all well. We had a couple of beers, a flight of margaritas, and some jalapeno poppers. A pretty nice little Saturday, indeed.
