The Water Lantern Festival makes its return this year for Father's Day weekend, and the location will be Windsor Lake.

If you're not familiar with the Water Lantern Festival, it's a really cool event that is not only very appealing to the eyes with the sight of lights of lanterns lighting up the water, but its ultimate message is incredible.

The Water Lantern Festival is a for-profit event, but they donate to charities and nonprofit organizations for each of their events and are proud to support Water.org's mission of providing safe water to millions of people around the world.

The Water Lantern Festival gathers people together for a night of food, music, and lanterns lighting up beautiful Windsor Lake for a really cool experience where you can jot down a note, put something out there for a loved one, and send it out on the water.

The festival gets underway at Boardwalk Park about three hours before sunset, which now is around 8:30 pm. Tickets range from $25.99 to $55.99.

Each ticket gets you entry into the event along with a floating lantern, a commemorative drawstring bag, and an LED light for your lantern for illumination on the water.

Food trucks will be out there with some delicious food, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and snacks for the party.

Here's a great shot of what the event looked like earlier this year at the festival down in Fort Worth, Texas:
