Earlier this year, my wife and I went on an adventure of a lifetime to Istanbul, Turkey. The entire experience was outstanding and we made memories that will last the rest of our lives. We would love to go back and explore even more of the country of Turkey, but taking a vacation such as this is expensive.

If you want to immerse yourself in Turkish culture, you don't have to go very far. You don't even need to leave Northern Colorado this weekend to experience Turkey's vibrant culture. The Turkish American Cultural Society of Colorado is bringing Turkey to you at the second annual Turkish Festival on Sunday, August 25, at Ten Bears Winery in Laporte.

Whether you want to relive a trip to Istanbul or see what Turkish culture is all about, you can do so at the Turkish Festival with doner, baklava, Turkish coffee, and more. The event will be fun for the entire family and there are activities just for the kids too. At the Turkish festival, you can expect to learn about the fairy chimneys and underground living in Cappadocia, live music, silent auction, and many other fun activities to take part in throughout the day.
