Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is Open
One of the surefire ways of knowing that summer is right around the corner in Colorado is the opening of an iconic road. Rocky Mountain National Park announced that Trail Ridge Road is now open for the season on Friday, May 30.
One of our most favorite things to do in the summer to escape the heat on the Front Range of Colorado is to take a trip up Trail Ridge Road. However, you need to be aware that the timed entry reservation system is now required between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the summer months.
Be Prepared for Your Trip on Trail Ridge Road
The weather in Colorado is still quite unpredictable, especially above tree line. The National Parks Service warns guests to be sure to check conditions before attempting to drive on Trail Ridge Road, as things can change at a moment's notice. Due to the melting snow on the road and the potential for freezing temperatures, visitors should be prepared for icy conditions.

One of the many highlights of driving on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is the Alpine Visitor's Center. Currently, the visitor center is closed and barricaded off. Anyone entering the closure areas will be cited.
