May I rant?

I’m a small-town girl. Crowds? Not really my thing. So why, in God’s name, did I move to the busiest little town in Northern Colorado? Don’t get me wrong, Timnath is charming. The people are lovely. It’s adorable. But why do I feel like I’m on the verge of a full-blown panic attack every time I try to run a simple errand? I get it. People love Costco. Walmart. Starbucks. But are we all going at the exact same time? Every single day? Because that’s what it feels like. And don’t worry… it gets worse. In just a few months, Timnath will be welcoming what might be the most popular fast food restaurant in the universe: In-N-Out Burger. And let me paint the picture for you, one road in, one road out, and a line of people questioning just how badly they want a burger animal style. The average Costco sees somewhere between 3,000 and 6,000 customers a day according to Google. And somehow, it feels like we all go at the same time. Running errands in Timnath isn’t a quick trip, it’s an episode of American Ninja Warrior. Between the town’s rapid growth and just how incredibly hungry the people in Timnath get, this whole setup feels like a disaster waiting to happen. If you are claustrophobic or have any issues with road rage, please just drive to Windsor or Ft. Collins.

So be safe out there in the Timnath shopping district. And if you want a Starbucks block out at least 45 minutes.

Three Ways to Avoid Triggering Road Rage

  • Give yourself a time buffer. That way if you run into unexpected traffic you won't freak out.
  • Remember no one is out to get you.
  • Control your environment. Set the vibe with calming music.
